Holly Johnson, a grduate of Memphis State University, has been working with clay as long as she can remember. She enjoys creating pieces that are interesting to look at, as well as functional.
Holly, originally from California, now lives with her family in Plant City. While working her day job as an accountant for a commercial roofing contractor, she spends all her free time working with clay. Working with low fire glazes, she likes to combine wheel thrown pots with hand-built components and details.
Encouraged by her friends and family in 2008, she opened the MudHut, LLC, a pottery studio that offers clases twice a week. Classes are small, no more than five students at a time, and the focus is on basic wheel and hand building.
