Ivy is originally from Long Island New York, moved to Lakeland, Florida in the year 1984 at which time she started painting in oils and has since expanded to include acrylics and watercolors.
For the last several years, Ivy has been teaching classes for residents of her park and also at the " Imperial Art Gallery". She is now teaching classes at j rowan galleries, inc.
She has been awarded ribbons at St. Clements and "My Gallery" shows, and purchase awards at the Blooming Arts Show and Manatee Festival show plus Award of Excellence at Wings and String show. The Jacaranda Fine Arts festival received Award of Merit, The Judges Award ribbon at the Blooming Art Festival.
She started painting butterflies from the years spent with "My Gallery Cottage" in Winter Haven, "Ridge Art Gallery" in Winter Haven and "Arts on the Park" in Lakeland. She won an award at Lakeland Art Guild show and was picked to show her painting of Clearwater beach for a year at Peggy Brown building.
