Downtown Lakeland, Arts on the Park Gallery and the j rowan gallery have artistic energy and generous hospitality for newcomers. I so appreciate their encouragement.
I don't remember when I used my first camera (a Brownie), but I remember the excitement of the finished pictures. Several of those photographs are in my first scrapbook that sits with a lifetime collection of photographs in the library in my Plantation, FL home. I also know that after years of technical challenges from an assortment of cameras, my present Panasonic Lumix digital camera was selected for its absolute ease of operation!
I have lived in two of the most beautiful environments for good picture subjects: Northern New York Adiorndacks and Southern Florida tropics. Sunrises, sunsets, lakes, woods, beaches, trees, flowers, wildlife offer an opportunity for my camera to get between me and God's design for that moment. Birds, too, are fun. They seem to "know" about cameras and often "pose".
Most recently, the downtown Lakeland vicinity has offered wonderful photo ops with the rainbow on Lake Mirror, the church at Lake Morton, the buildings, and most especially, the spectacular sunrises and sunsets with their most fascinating cloud formations.
My framed photographs are easy to live with whether small or very large. For my customers, the photos give comfort in nature's calm beauty or a smile in the humor.
